Landscaping Services
All projects begin with a consultation. Together we will determine a realistic version of your wants and needs based on the size of your space, light conditions, access to water and the amount of time you want to spend caring for your garden. It could be that a consultation is all you need.
Design can involve the overall geometry of your space or be simply a planting design for existing beds. This might include a patio, walkways, bed lines, perhaps a water feature or some architectural element. If it’s determined a design is needed we will measure your property then draw a base plan and develop the design. You will receive the design including the plant lists, placement and the cost for Terrace & Gardens installation. After review any revisions will be incorporated. We can then proceed with execution if you choose.
Installation begins as soon as possible after you give the okay. Crews appropriate to the tasks at hand will complete the agreed upon project…from patio installation to watering systems…or just some skilled gardeners showing up at your door with some beautiful plants and a few bags of soil.
Maintenance
Maintenance involves work with shrubs and perennial beds but not the care of lawns. We call it “fine gardening”. Until plants become established many find it difficult to differentiate between a weed and a perennial. We recommend you hire us to tend your garden for the first year We apply mulch topping to all new jobs which helps the plants retain moisture and slows the growth of weeds but still occasional weeding is required. Additionally, we remove any dead flowers (called deadheading), as well as any dead stems and branches.
This improves the overall look of your garden. New shrubs should not require pruning for many months or even years. Generally every month to six weeks is often enough during the growing season for attention to weeding and general garden care. At the start and end of the growing season a clean up is also in order.
